Biography...
Robert Allen, born on the West Side of Chicago, IL is an R&B Vocalist, Songwriter and Producer. Robert is a classically trained vocalist, his style originates from a fusion of Gospel, Rhythm & Blues (R&B), Jazz, Pop, Hip-Hop/Rap and an expertise in A Cappella blending. According to Robert, "At Birth" was when he knew that he had his talent, crying and belting out a tune at the same time. Robert began constructing his talent in church as a child and continues to do so today.
As a young man, Robert began performing in and around the Chicago metro area where he made a local name for himself. Robert and three others formed the group 24Karat; as lead vocalist, they became an exceptional local talent. With smash hits like "My Time is Your Time" and "Quiet Storm" 24Karat went on to the national level and also made the top 10 Billboard singles chart. With success there was fame, 24Karat was featured on BET television programming, 24Karat had performances at Expos around the country and has opened at sold out venues for many acclaimed artists. 24Karat's resume did not stop there, with Robert taking the lead, they went on to do jingles for commercials like Burger King, Coca-Cola and Hershey's Candy, three worldwide recognizable companies and yes the list goes on and on.
Seeking to become a solo artist, Robert entered in the citywide contest, Chicago Idol, hosted by Fox Communication-Chicago, WGCI-FM (107.5) and V103-FM (102.7), two mainstream radio stations, owned by Clear Channel Communications. Robert became one of the 15 finalists out of hundreds of hopefuls. Although Robert did not reign victory as Chicago Idol, he has since dedicated a great amount of time in the studio recording, writing, producing, perfecting his craft...determined to make music that his fans, the world would want to hear.
Today, Robert performs as a solo artist and he also does encore performances with 24Karat at different venues around the country. He offers his vocal talent to various fundraisers and benefits; Robert performed "Love Always" at a benefit with the American Cancer Society, hosted by Beyonce Fox, releasing the single dedicating it to cancer victims with proceeds to cancer research.
Robert, of course, is no stranger in the music biz. He is an active member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Robert has worked with many acclaimed artists such as R. Kelly, Twista, Luke Skywalker, Do or Die, Young Gotti and The Pope, to just name a few. He has performed Opera Solamy at the Lyric Opera House of Chicago. He is also a vocal trainer that has worked with many of artists around the country.
Robert is currently an unsigned artist. He is working very diligent in presenting his music to record labels, to sign as a new up and coming R&B solo artist.
